What is the UroFill® technique?

UroFill® is a patented technique for penile girth enhancement without surgery, developed by the American urologist Dr Paul Perito. The treatment consists of injections of a hyaluronic acid-based filler, a substance that also occurs naturally in the body. Only urologists with specific UroFill® training and certification may perform it. The technique is protected by European patent EP 3 373 832 B1 (granted on 29 May 2024) for a composition for use in this treatment.

In short

  1. UroFill® is an injection technique without surgery for penile girth enhancement, using a hyaluronic acid-based filler.
  2. The injections take about 10 minutes, under local anaesthesia. Including preparation, allow 30 to 40 minutes.
  3. After the treatment, a loose dressing stays on for 24 hours. Sexual contact is possible after 72 hours.
  4. The result is built up in stages, over one or more sessions. It is not permanent and the filler can be removed if needed.
  5. In Belgium, only Dr Sam Ward, a UroFill®-certified urologist, performs the treatment.

What we do not promise: a specific result. Results vary from person to person and are discussed during the consultation.

Why hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body. It has long been used in medicine, for example in joint treatments and in facial fillers, because the body tolerates it well. It is also biodegradable: your body breaks it down by itself over time. That is why the result is not permanent.

How does the treatment work?

The treatment takes place in the practice, under local anaesthesia. General anaesthesia is not needed. The injections themselves take about 10 minutes. Including preparation, allow 30 to 40 minutes. Most patients can drive themselves home afterwards.

  1. Medical assessmentDr Ward assesses whether the technique suits you: your anatomy, your expectations and your medical history.
  2. Information and consentHe explains what is realistic, which alternatives exist, which side effects are possible and what aftercare involves. A treatment only follows after your consent.
  3. The treatmentThe hyaluronic acid is injected according to the UroFill® protocol, under local anaesthesia.
  4. AftercareA loose dressing stays on for 24 hours to limit bruising. You can go back to work straight away. Showering and sport are possible after 24 hours, sexual contact after 72 hours. Do not shave the area for the first two weeks.
  5. Follow-upAbout a week after the treatment, Dr Ward can model the filler to correct small irregularities. A next session is possible after two weeks at the earliest.

A result built up step by step

UroFill® works in stages: the result is built up over one or more sessions, usually 7 to 15 days apart. After each session, you and Dr Ward decide together whether and how to continue. How much girth each session adds depends on your anatomy. You discuss this during the consultation.

Because the hyaluronic acid is gradually broken down, touch-up sessions are needed over time to maintain the result. If you want to adjust or reverse the result, the filler can be removed in the practice.

Possible side effects

As with any medical procedure, side effects are possible, such as temporary swelling, bruising or irregularities in the tissue. Bruising usually disappears within a week. Dr Ward goes through all the risks with you before the treatment.

Who may perform UroFill®?

Only urologists who have completed the official international UroFill® certification programme. The programme combines theory with practice and is led by Dr Paul Perito. In Belgium, Dr Sam Ward is the only UroFill®-certified urologist (according to the official provider list on urofill.com, checked on 19 October 2026).

Always a consultation first

In Belgium, strict rules apply to aesthetic procedures and to the information doctors give about them. That is why every UroFill® treatment is preceded by a thorough medical consultation and is never offered as standard. Results vary from person to person.

This information is general and does not replace medical advice. Whether the UroFill® technique is suitable for you can only be determined through a personal consultation and a clinical assessment by a qualified urologist.
